Head of Operational Services (Commercial)
Risk Engineering are going places! As a business we continue to compliment work across all of our UK business with our expertise and technical skills and are always looking at how we can re-invent ourselves to be as efficient as possible. We are heading into the future with some compelling and challenging projects and need the right person at the helm to galvanise and lead our Operational Services. A natural leader, you’ll bring the right blend of direction and influence to help drive and deliver on our initiatives.
In this high profile role, you will report directly to the Director of Risk Engineering UK, you will be fully responsible for managing the relationships with internal stakeholders across Business Units, though the clear leadership of approximately 10 team members, that strategically develop and enhance interactions with internal and external customers, including brokers.
The role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.
Lead a team of approximately 10 staff members
Manage our relationships with internal stakeholders across business units (Commercial Insurance, Zurich Municipal, Retail etc.) and functions (Underwriting, Claims, Operations etc.)
Develop our relationships and propositions serving brokers and customers.
Lead our assistance with new business acquisitions
Strategically develop our Knowledge Management hub to ensure the material they produce is beneficial internally and externally
Drive greater insight via better management information (MI) generation via our data scientists
Strategically challenge our deployment model by using MI to offer a better way
Support our customer facing teams that cover property, casualty and motor lines of business, along with teams offering Enterprise Risk Management activities to our customers
Your skills and experience:
Passionate about working within an ‘empowerment with accountability’ environment
A track record of delighting customers within an insurance environment
Good negotiating and influencing skills
Working knowledge of using actuarial data analytics to generate powerful insight from data
Strong fiscal discipline with experience of managing budgets
Flexible management style when leading a diverse team of flexible, remote workers
Good digital skills
Ability to embrace change
Curiosity to seek out alternative solutions and persistence to drive operational efficiency drives through to yield a positive result
