The principal function of this position is to provide graduate support to the water department in the works we undertake on the EA WEM programme of works and to a much lesser extent for Local Authority clients.

Immediate projects to support are the Environment Agency North West Appraisals for Packages A, B and C.

Job responsibilities:

Technical input into flood risk management commissions

*

Review hydrological / hydraulic modelling data

*

Options identification/ analysis/ / assessment and appraisal

*

Outline design

*

Report preparation

*

Drawing supervision and production

Role will also include:

*

Work package management

*

Client interaction

*

Stakeholder interaction

*

Risk management

*

Change control

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

*

We expect our candidates to have graduated with or expecting to graduate with a with a minimum 2.1 Bachelors in Civil Engineering

*

Demonstrate a strong focus water related study subject such as i.e. Water management, flood risk assessment, River Engineering

*

Masters level preferred but not essential

*

Working towards becoming Chartered with the relevant Institution (ICE or CIWEM)

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

*

Excellent communication verbal and written

*

Practical, problem solving and engineering abilities

*

Good knowledge of relevant computer programmes, such as MS Word in particular Excel, and some exposure to knowledge of AutoCAD, Civils 3D, GIS and MS project would be desirable

*

proactive team player, able to work with different project teams in the office and across offices

*

Spreadsheet design and/or manipulation skills would be advantageous as would strong analytical skills

*

Flexible, adaptable and responsive to change

*

Self-motivated, their work ethic, able to focus on project delivery to time and budget
