We currently have a great Opportunity for a Graduate to join our team as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at our Cement Plant based in Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath, Ireland.

Breedon operates two cement plants with a total capacity in excess of 2 million tonnes. Our Hope cement plant in Derbyshire is recognised as the UK's largest and has been in operation for more than 80 years. Our plant at Kinnegad Co. Westmeath commenced production in 2002 and is one of the most modern in Europe. Our Kinnegad plant manufactures cement for sale throughout the island of Ireland and also exports to Great Britain through our terminal in the Port of Dublin.

Main Duties/Key Tasks:

* Brings a positive and enthusiastic approach to the role, continuously applying a best practice approach.
* Works closely with the Maintenance Management team to deliver on all key performance indicators.
* Assists in the execution of planned, preventative, predicative and breakdown maintenance activities associated with all equipment.
* Fosters a “right first time” and continuous improvement culture in the maintenance dept.
* Proactive approach to problem identification and problem solving applying a collaborative approach in conjunction with all team members.
* Assists in troubleshooting plant issues as they arise & seeks to identify resolutions for same.
* Continually updates all areas of knowledge in order to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness
* Willingness to attend training courses as and when required.
* Assists in conducting feasibility studies on improvement projects with an emphasis on production cost and quality.

Desirable Skills/ Experience:

In order to be eligible for this programme you must be studying in the field of Mechanical engineering.

Apart from the educational qualification the ideal candidate should possess the below traits/competencies:

* Good problem solver with an ability to understand complex problems and communicate effectively
* Applies a rigorous approach to problem solving and maintains accurate records.
* Builds positive relationships across the organisation.
* Seeks and accepts responsibility.
* Displays a drive and ability to get things done.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work off own initiative.
* Displays a desire for continuous improvement and professional development.
* Keeps up-to-date with advancements and developing trends in the cement industry.
* Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
