We have an opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer (experienced or looking to start your career after university) to join our experienced Civil & Structural Engineering team in our Plymouth Office.
You will need to be eligible to work in the UK without our sponsorship to have your application considered for this role, as we are not able to provide a Skilled Worker visa for this position.
Please note that this is an open vacancy and you must be available to start within a month. If you are graduating later in 2021, please apply for one of our graduate vacancies later in the year.
Locally, we have an experienced multidisciplinary team of circa 35 staff (Civils, Structures, Building Services and Geo), working from a converted barn in Plympton, at the foot of Dartmoor (just north of the A38). We have plenty of free on-site parking, making it “commutable” from within a large radius of the office (although we anticipate a blend of home and office-based working in the future/post pandemic).
The way we live and work is changing. Perhaps you are seeking more remote and flexible working arrangements. Maybe you are considering a new location and quality of life. Is now the moment to realise your aspiration to live in Devon/Cornwall?
At the time of writing, we are predominantly working from home, but there is an appetite to return to the collaborative and social environment that is a Hydrock office, when it is safe to do so.
Hydrock is an independently owned consultancy of circa 500 staff, operating out of 16 offices in the UK. We are one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For and a champion of wellbeing (latest winner of the Health and Wellbeing Leader of the Year award at the NCE100). We believe part of our success is looking after our people and our values help create a unique, dynamic, working environment. Feedback from our client listening programme and employee surveys indicates we are great to work with, whether providing a service to a client or rewarding employment to an employee!
Our national Structural Engineering business is led from Bristol, where our largest team is located, with established teams in Birmingham, Cardiff, Gloucester, London, Manchester and Plymouth. You can expect to work with, and learn from, exceptional colleagues and work on an interesting variety of challenging projects. Local examples include: The UK Hydrographic Office, The Wave in Bristol, North Prospect Phases 4 and 5, Plympton Academy and Exmouth Community College.
