We are recruiting for a Fitter to join our manufacturing team based in Lincoln, supporting our Industrial Turbomachinery business within Siemens. We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual to work in a friendly team environment, where full training will be given to the successful candidate. We are looking for someone who is punctual and reliable with excellent attention to detail and work ethic.

What are my responsibilities?

You will be responsible for the manufacture of small gas turbines and sub-assemblies such as the nozzles and stators.
Day to day tasks will involve the use of tooling and measuring equipment, in association with engineering drawings and layouts, to a high tolerance level, to ensure the core engine or sub-assembly is built right first time. There will be a need to using lifting equipment and fixtures to complete this process and complete associated paperwork including the recording of build figures and ensure they are within required limits. You should be able to discuss issues clearly with supporting departments and complete handovers to employees following on from you.
You will be expected to maintain a high level of 5S to ensure the working area remains clean and tidy and submit process improvement ideas through the 3i Suggestion scheme or your local 3C Board.
High standards of quality are a must both in your fitting work and paperwork.
Strict adherence to company policies and procedures is also required.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

Skill sets in all of the above mentioned areas.
You will have gained previous fitter experience and be trained to an equivalent of NVQ Level 3 in mechanical fitting.
Knowledge of dismantling and overhauling components.
Ability to assemble components to high prcision and fit limits.
Awareness of pipework systems for both air and liquid
