JOB TITLE: Finance Apprenticeship

POSTING END DATE: 31/03/20 - Jaguar Land Rover reserve the right to move the closing date at any time based on the volume of applications.

Creating the cars of tomorrow is a challenge around 40,000 passionate Jaguar Land Rover colleagues take on every day. The way cars are created and driven is changing. And we are leading that change. Our vision is for a cleaner, smarter, more connected world where autonomous, connected, electrified and shared vehicles will replace the environmentally impactful world of the internal combustion engine. Throughout our history we have always taken on the challenges of creating the most prestigious, sustainable and desirable cars.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Finance sits at the very heart of what we do. As part of a team that affects every element of our business, you'll turn your hand to a vast range of fascinating challenges. We'll look to you to grasp every moment, every opportunity to improve our business functions. What's more, the ideas you come up with will be heard. And the decisions you make will ripple through our business right around the world, directly influencing our success, and yours.

Joining the Finance Apprenticeship Scheme could involve diverse roles within Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Accounts Payable, Commercial, Business Assurance, Supplier Risk and Tax.

Each role will provide you with the opportunity to grow your finance and commercial skills at the same time as growing your analytical abilities. You’ll work towards your apprenticeship whilst rotating around some of our sites in core areas within Finance and studying through day release to reach the Strategic Level of the CIMA / CGMA accountancy qualification. To become a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), you need a minimum of three years verified relevant work-based practical experience, which we will support you to achieve in your early career.

WHERE IT WILL TAKE YOU

You’ll undertake a modern apprenticeship the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) standards. This exciting programme will develop your skills and knowledge required for your role. This is all achieved whilst developing your behaviours, as we are not just interested in what you accomplish, but the manner in which you do it.

As well as gaining commercial and professional experience, you’ll also achieve academic and vocational qualifications, such as:

Accountancy Professional Level 7 Apprenticeship (includes CIMA Accountancy qualification up to the Strategic Level). To become a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), you need a minimum of three years verified relevant work-based practical experience, which we will support you to achieve in your early career.

There will also be an option for a ‘Top-up MSc’ in International Accounting and Finance (to be approved) – dependant on individuals’ performance and business need

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

For those interested in entering the world of Finance, you’ll need 300 UCAS points/120 new tariff UCAS points, gained from three A Levels, one of which must be a B Grade in a numerical or business-related subject (Maths, Physics, Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, etc.). Level 3 AAT will be considered alongside 200 UCAS points/80 new tariff UCAS points, gained from two A-Levels, or a Level 4 AAT qualification. In addition, you’ll also need Maths GCSE at grade B/level 6 or higher; English Language at grade B/level 6 or higher and three additional GCSEs at C Grade/level 4 or higher.

REWARD AND BENEFITS

Your innovation and creativity will be challenged every day, as you develop a rigorous and commercially focused approach in your work. And, with on-going support from industry leading experts and continual learning opportunities, you’ll quickly realise that our programmes have been designed to be as inspiring as the pioneering vehicles you’ll help produce.

Whichever part of the business you join your hard work and contribution deserves recognition. Our salaries are competitive, and we will also pay for your tuition and course fees and give you a generous holiday allowance as part of your package. You will be able to access a range of deals and discounts from various retailers and sports clubs.

And there are regular social events so plenty of chances to make friends and have fun too.
