The postholder will work within an integrated delivery team, and is accountable to the
Estimating Manager for the provision of robust estimates and pricing documentation of a
project or programme of projects from inception through to start on site. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the preparation of cost estimates which will be collectively reviewed and
ratified by the joint delivery team before being submitted for approval via the Totex delivery
Develop estimating working practices within the programme area to help ensure a consistent
estimating approach including sharing best practice.
Ensure governance of all stakeholders is achieved within agreed timescales.
Ensure stakeholder costs are broken down to an appropriate level at the respective delivery
Provide high level solution costs for risk and value process evaluation.
Ensure sufficient pricing documentation required for the delivery milestone submissions is in
place and delivered on time.
Compile and submit to IProcT initial requisition procurement schedule to identify forward
Ensure that the challenge of sustainability is recognised within the proposed solution
including carbon benefits.
Liaise with third parties and stakeholders as appropriate
Responsible for the utilisation and implementation of standard products within the estimating
Ensure a handover meeting has taken place with the delivery team to ensure they have a
clear understanding of the cost build ups including detailed breakdowns of resources,
materials and production outputs provided.
Maintain an awareness of new developments on project processes and propose
modifications to any area of the project so that the Alliance makes best use of technological
Maintain regular contact with the IProcT to ensure procurement needs are managed.
Identify schemes where specialist capability is required and engage the supply chain early.

Key measures & targets: You will be responsible for the successful delivery of a robust solution cost estimate of
projects or programme of projects whilst achieving maximum efficiencies in full compliance
with all Alliance and Anglian Water governance procedures.
Key relationships: Delivery Manager; Estimating Manager and Estimating Team Person Specification: The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Essential Significant estimating experience within a civils environment
Extensive practical experience of general civils, particularly installation of pipelines, shafts,
M&E fit out of pumping stations, earthworks, concrete works, roadworks
Familiarity with the way such projects are constructed, the risks and opportunities and
knowledge of local supply chains and specialist subcontractors
Desirable Use of an estimating system is useful, but not essential
