Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Estimator with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This is a permanent staff position based in our offices in Darlington.

Key Aims and Objective

* Review of Invitation to Tender to establish and understand customer requirements and work scope
* Attend engineering, project and site meetings to assess work scope and understand customer requirements
* Liaison with engineering, and project support functions and operations
* Compilation of engineering hours from CTR's and development of labour, plant, staff and establishment costs
* Issue of subcontract and material supply enquiries, assessment of subsequent quotations and selection of offers for use in cost estimate
* Production of overall summary of costs and attend formal review meetings with management and implement any resulting amendments
* Production of priced documentation and commercial deliverables in the format required by client for submission
* Provide post tender clarification services to customer as required and maintain positive communication link
* On contract award, formally record and hand over project details to contract management team

Skills / Qualifications

* Demonstrable experience in a similar role, mechanical / piping background preferred
* Preferably educated to Degree / HND Level in construction, engineering or business discipline
* A good working knowledge of estimating practices
* Construction experience within a contractor environment
* Comprehensive working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts would be advantageous
* Effective communication skills including the ability to give presentations / reports to all levels including external stakeholders
* Proficient in IT Skills, with a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word as a minimum
* Possess a full UK Driving License
* Be prepared to travel and work away from the base office for short periods
