Manager – Babcock Defence Support Group (BDSG)

currently have a vacancy for an Equipment Support Manager – Babcock Defence
Support Group (BDSG) at our site in Filton or Telford.

an Equipment Support Manager – Babcock Defence Support Group (BDSG), you will
be responsible for Support Engineering activities conducted on all Babcock DSG
work packages. All Babcock DSG funded activities are coordinated by the ESM
(Equipment Support Manager) ensuring that comprehensive and coherent support
solutions are estimated, proposed and delivered.

role will provide you with the opportunity of working closely with the customer
and understanding their requirements.

Your main
responsibilities as an Equipment Support Manager – Babcock Defence Support
Group (BDSG) will involve:

Supporting Engineering liaison to Babcock and MOD
contract holders

Dealing with Project Managers and Engineers to
determine how we develop their business with Babcock

Understanding failures, analysis of data, vehicle
continuous improvement, increase vehicle availability, through life costs

Producing reports to highlight analysis to clients

Carrying out practical and theoretical
supportability assessments on existing and new systems, sub-assemblies &

Writing in-depth engineering appraisals, reports and
engineering procedures in a precise and logical manner

Managing support specialists to produce support
engineering deliverables, as well as defining support engineering requirements
for supplied items/services

The evaluation of design and supplier data, and the
production of support related data and reports

Working with the training capability to
create/inform training impact statements/cases

Responsible for the Support Engineering estimation

Salary: £45,000
