Job Description

An Equipment Development Responsible for AOCS/GNC (Attitude and Orbital Control System/Guidance, Navigation and Control) is required in the AOCS/GNC and Flight Dynamics Department, focusing on two equipment types in particular: Reaction Wheels and Navigation Cameras.

As a Development Responsible, is the End to End accountable person in Airbus DS for the equipment development up to the QR and PFM delivery.

The Development Responsible interfaces and drives the supplier for product development, ensures fulfilment of supplier’s commitments to Airbus DS, and coordinates Airbus DS stakeholders.

Tasks & accountabilities:

In the Equipment Development Responsible position, you will be:

Accountable (end to end) for the equipment development in Airbus DS, ensuring the product OQ/OT/OC delivery to the project
Responsible for programmatic aspects, cost and planning risks until delivery of the product to the project
Responsible for product development cycle at supplier level
Responsible for managing reviews up to PFM delivery and qualification (PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, DR, QR…)
Responsible for product performance, i.e. of all technical aspects

For this purpose, you will:

Establish and maintain the technical specifications (quality, performances, validation tests) in coordination with the system and subsystem architects, and endorse the complete packages (SOW, ADs) for requests for proposal
Own the APQP Planning and Product Design and Development phases
Define and support the HW/SW integration and the operational products development
Define and support the equipment validation plan, especially for Spacecraft assembly and integration
Manage Non Conformity of the product for containment, corrections and prevention
Strongly liaise with the Procurement team (Commodity Manager, Supply Chain Quality Manager) for contractual, industrial and production part

As part the AOCS/GNC team, you will also contribute to long term development actions:

Continuously monitor new products and candidate suppliers in coordination with the supply chain, with the objective to improve the HW overall costs
Lead the suppliers evaluation and selection for new programs
Capitalize lessons learned and assembly and integration / in-flight experience return.

Working experience and skills:

You will have the following skills and experience:

Experience in the space or aeronautical domain.
Experience in space, aeronautical or automotive equipment hardware development.
Experience in external supplier follow up, especially in the frame of new equipment development.
Interest for “make it work”, including trouble-shooting when required
Recognized leadership skills
Good presentation and communication skills
Rigor and Synthesis capability
Able and willing to work as a team member
Coordination skills enabling to work and synchronize with various working domains

Experience in Procurement and multi domain knowledge (e.g. Thermal, Mechanical, Electrical) is a plus.

Specific conditions

Occasional travels, depending on the supplier location.
