WHAT TO EXPECT

Provide focus to shape and guide the development of JLR’s Enterprise Architecture. Help drive development of future technology strategies across the business domains. Enable the visibility of an effective, consistent technology architecture through best practice use of principles, reference architectures and standards with efficient governance.

Key Performance Indicators:

* Contribution and definition of JLR’s end-to-end Enterprise Architecture, current, transition and future states.

* Contribution and definition of JLR’s future IT technology strategy, communicated and adopted by all relevant parts of JLR and its subsidiaries

* Contribution and definition of JLR’s Business & IT Capabilities, IT landscape and key technologies

* Identification and communication of Technology Rationalisation/Modernisation Opportunities (re-use) or Technology Risk (out of support / end of life)

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

* Proactively and holistically guide the enterprise through collating and communicating transformation and optimisation initiatives, enabled through strategies and roadmaps developed by IT product managers. The scope of the activities includes helping the organisation grow revenue, optimise costs and mitigate risks

* Respond to disruptive forces by helping business leaders and IT product managers facilitate the decision-making process and providing actionable recommendations on initiatives and policies to help the organisation drive targeted business outcomes

* Helping business leaders and IT product managers enable their future-state business capabilities that, in turn, drive the organisations targeted business outcomes through the choice of initiatives the organisation chooses to invest in

* Empowering, coaching and mentoring domain/solution architects to build a creative and safe learning environment

* Coordinate across all aspects of the EA practice, including: Business Architecture: Focused on guiding people, process and organisational change. Information Architecture: Focused on the consistent sharing of information across the enterprise. Solutions Architecture: Focused on developing a direction for managing the portfolio of to-be solutions. Technical Architecture: Focused on evolving the technical infrastructure and Security Architecture: Focused on managing IT risk through the exchange of information between people, systems and things inside and outside the organization.

* Actively maintain JLR’s Enterprise Architecture & Digital artefacts, ensuring they meet the needs of stakeholder expectations including the initiatives and funding continuum required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You will need five or more years of business experience in enterprise architecture, senior IT architect, strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis. As well as Five or more years of experience in at least three disciplines or two cycles of technology change, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

* Skills

* Knowledge of business ecosystems, Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), SOA, API’s, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and analytics

* Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks

* Excellent analytical and technical skills

* Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills.

* Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture e.g. business architecture, Data, Applications, Integration, Infrastructure, security, etc …

* Familiarity with basic graphical modelling approaches, tools and model repositories

* Competencies

* Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management

* Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level

* Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments

* Translate business needs into EA requirements

* Mode 1: renovating the core of the IT estate, ensuring efficiency and predictability and vanguard EA efforts.

* Mode 2: concerned with business and operating model design, technology innovation, speed, agility and flexibility to achieve a unified and flexible EA that meets the organisation’s needs.

* Strategic Thinking

* Experience of formulating, translating, advocating and influencing business strategy to achieve the organisation's targeted business outcomes

* Experience of leading the development of architecture transition plans for the enterprise architecture based on business strategy and requirements

* Understands customer needs and works closely with senior stakeholders to validate the value proposition and fit to requirements of all architecture products and services being formulated

* Experience of leading the identification and analysis of enterprise business outcomes and drivers to derive useful business context, and in response to disruptive forces

* Actively seeks and influences opportunities to highlight how digital business initiatives will potentially impact enterprises' economic architecture and metrics
