For over 60 years, Thales in the UK has pioneered the increasingly complex science of electronic surveillance. Thales Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions continuously protect British servicemen and women, and the platforms on which they serve and in turn, civilian populations all over the world. Due to current and future projects we need to make a number of new hires in to our Electronic Warfare team.
As Project Design Authority (PDA) you will work as part of a bid or project team within the Electronic Warfare and Radar Business. The primary purpose is responsible for solution creation in preparation for bids and solution compliance across all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle within a project including in Service. You will guarantee that the technical solutions are feasible, competitive and meets customer expectations, in terms of cost, innovation, performance, schedule. Acting as the primary technical leader of the bid or project team and technical interface with the Customer this is key hire within the team.
Required Experience and Skills
* Radar/Electronic Warfare systems engineering in the maritime/land/air environment.
* Modelling, design, development, integration and trials.
* Preparation of bids for domestic and export customers.
* Ideally a good understanding of digital Radar receiver technology and techniques.
* Systems Experience across the engineering life cycle
* Understanding of wide variety of engineering disciplines (systems, software, hardware, EMC, RF).
* Highly Desirable would be the experience of certification of Radar/EW systems to customer specifications and managing the customer through this process
* Ability to generate innovative solutions including system acceptance and system certification within a competitive environment
