Job Description

Do you have a background in diagnosis and repair within an Electronic environment?

Based in Chester, Northrop Grumman are seeking an Electronic Repair Technician to be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of avionic units.

The ERT will undertake the diagnosis and repair of those items within the facility as directed by Line Management. On infrequent occasions the ERT may be required to undertake off site activities under the supervision of a Northrop Grumman (NG) Field Service Engineer (FSR).

Key Responsibilities: The diagnosis and repair of avionic units in a timely manner to a high standard Observe safe working practices To be meticulous in the recording of repair and engineering data both written and computer based Observe all procedures and maintain security of the site Undertake other reasonable duties as dictated by circumstances and directed by Line Management

Secondary Responsibilities Fork Lift Truck (FLT) driving Preparation of equipment for shipping Cleaning secure / limited access test areas Additional required business support tasking as directed by the Operations Management e.g. Facility First Aider, Fire Marshall Etc. Maintaining clean and tidy office and technical work areas Collection and delivery of equipment using company vans

How you will make a difference

Person Specification: NVQ Level 4 in Electronics, equivalent or relevant work experience Educated to GCSE standard with passes that include English and Mathematics ECDL / ICDL in Essential Computer Skills, equivalent or demonstrable knowledge Applicants will be subject to security clearance The ability to represent Northrop Grumman’s corporate image to visitors to the facility To be able to work flexibly under pressure while carrying out the instructions of Line Management Show initiative in raising issues that come to his / her attention that would improve working practice Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience Works with a limited degree of supervision Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Works within defined processes and procedures IT literate and have a verifiable working knowledge of Microsoft Office
