RACE (Remote Applications in Challenging Environments) design, deliver and operate remote handling solutions for extreme environments using the latest technologies in robotics and automation. Located at our brand new, purpose built facility at Culham, Oxfordshire we are working on a number of multi-year projects to design, manufacture and supply complex and innovative solutions to work in challenging and hazardous environments. RACE is a business unit of the UK Atomic Energy Authority.
As a member of the RACE electrical systems team your role would be to support RACE projects with electrical systems engineering expertise, to produce electrical system designs for robotic remote handling systems and associated facilities, in additional to contributing to the design and execution of advanced control research projects.

Knowledge skills and experience
- Degree or equivalent level of experience in electronic/electrical engineering or a related field
- Experience in producing electrical systems specifications and designs
- Experience with electrical distribution
- Ability to prepare electrical schematics and BOMs for new prototype equipment
- Knowledge of the 17th Edition regulations
- Ability to produce high quality work to deadlines
- Experience of working in a cross functional team
- Experience of modern electrical CAD
