What is the purpose of the role?
The purpose of this role will be to oversee the technical inspection standards for specialist low voltage electrical maintenance across a region including fixed electrical testing, electrical installations within Hazardous Areas and Lightning Protection systems.

What will this role involve?
This role will involve:
Assisting in the planning for the delivery of contractor inspection and remedial work of hazardous and non-hazardous area equipment.
Carrying out site audits of contractors, delivering specialist LV Electrical Maintenance ensuring they are compliant with Best Practice and Regulatory Standards.
Providing technical scrutiny and challenge of inspection and remedial reports.
Specifying essential work and assisting with quotations and design for necessary remedial actions.
Auditing remedial works following completion.
Providing cover for Low Voltage Contract Manager as and when required.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a qualified Electrician (Installations Standards with CSCS/JIB card) with previous experience working as an NICEIC Qualified Supervisor. An excellent understanding of IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and Inspection and Testing Codes is essential. Appointment as a Qualifying Supervisor (Hazardous Areas) is preferable. You will have passed either CompEx Modules 1-4 or 9-10 and have at least two years' experience of working in hazardous area environments. Experience of dust installations would be advantageous. Consideration also given for recently lapsed CompEx qualifications. You will have good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements, particularly the electrical safety legislation and codes of practice. Experience in managing relationships with contractors and operational staff is important together with good analytical/ Microsoft Office skills. An good understanding of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations and electricity in potentially flammable atmospheres is essential. This role is based at Crossness Sewage Treatment Works in Abbey Wood, London. We are offering a starting salary of £40,000 dependant on skills and experience.
