We have an opportunity for a driven Electrical Engineer who is looking for technically challenging work on iconic projects to join our established Building Services Engineering delivery team in Manchester.

A driven and enthusiastic Electrical Engineer, you will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering team, working on multidisciplinary projects while responsible for the output of Graduate Electrical Engineers and Technicians.
Your role will be to be part of a dynamic, challenging and stimulating environment with a myriad of opportunities to apply your growing knowledge and expertise to a range of exciting projects. You will be involved in feasibility, design and site stage activities of major and minor building projects (new and refurbishment).
Work closely with other team members
Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs
Offer consultancy advice and prepare design reports, specifications and drawings in a timely fashion and within budget
Support graduate engineers with technical expertise and mentor less experienced team members
Share and expand knowledge through participation at relevant skills networks
You will report to the Building Services Leaders. This will require you to work closely and establish strong working relationships with other business groups in Manchester and with the buildings teams across the sub-region.
You will also be expected to establish links with our clients and external contacts. Regular visits will be expected to the Leeds, Liverpool and Sheffield offices to work within the wider sub-regional Building Services team.
You will be expected to develop project leadership skills and to achieve Chartered Engineer status to progress to a Senior Engineer role.
It is essential that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be a technical ambassador for Arup, working with our clients as well as the wider engineering and construction community. You will be a self-motivated, proactive, realistic and collaborative individual that strives to deliver solutions.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
· Experience in the electrical services design on a range of projects
· Lead electrical services design responsibility on projects
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal
· Good design software and IT skills
· Ability to think outside specialism and integrate multidisciplinary requirements into holistic coordinated solutions
· Good planning, organizational and time management skills to achieve successful designs to programme and budget
· Good people skills and working in a team
· Demonstrate a good record of continuing professional development
· Good knowledge of design of electrical building systems including coordination, spatial planning and energy performance of buildings
· CAD and Revit MEP skills
· Experience of working in a wide variety of sectors is desirable
· Chartered status through CIBSE, IET or other relevant body and degree qualified; or
· Working towards Chartership with a Masters Engineering Degree or equivalent
