Job Summary:
As part of our growth strategy, we are currently seeking to appoint a Director to lead the growth and delivery of our Roads Market (Strategic Highways, Local Roads and Asset Management). The Roads business sits within Civil Infrastructure, providing consultancy services to National Transport Agencies, Local Authorities and Contractors throughout the UK and Ireland. The key objective of this role is to be responsible for AECOM’s Highways Design and Build portfolio.
The role will be both internal and externally facing, providing leadership but also developing strategic relations with key clients. The individual will need to be an excellent communicator and have a proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Work with Executive Management, District and Market Sector Leaders, the Work Winning Team and other Sectors to deliver growth
*
Able to represent AECOM’s wider interests at all levels, with external clients and the media
*
Identify opportunities to grow the business or increase margins and ensures that these are acted upon
*
Develops long-term strategic plans to grow the business and ensure that they are fulfilled. Takes a personal interest in clients/customers, provides resources for work, and is proactive in introducing clients to AECOM. The individual encourages others in the development of productive relationships with clients/customers.
*
Provides visible leadership and recognises the need for collaborative diverse teams and provides resources to enable this to take place.
*
Demonstrates a commitment to AECOM values. Displays a strategic perspective whilst recognising operational pressures
*
Able to assess solutions for future business opportunities and threats, evaluates the effectiveness of others’ proposals, and project plans.
*
Able to develop company strategy documentation. The individual has the capability to identify and authorise optimum level of resources to maximise the profitability and effectiveness of AECOM
*
Monitors and advises on the effectiveness of current and proposed work practices to ensure delivery excellence to our clients.
Minimum Requirements
Skills and Experience
*
A highly experienced Project Delivery Director and/or successful Operations Director within a consultancy or contracting business.
*
A proven track record of profitable delivery of Design and Build projects in a consultancy or contracting business setting.
*
A proven track record of project delivery through various procurement routes including traditional procurement, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), Design and Build (D&B) or Private Finance.
*
A strong communicator, with excellent inter-personal and leadership and management skills.
*
High level relationship and stakeholder management skills working with the full breadth of statutory bodies.
*
Ability to act as a role model, promoting a health and safety culture and related behaviours.
*
The drive to lead and inspire a large team of professionals to deliver effectively and efficiently for our clients.
Preferred Qualifications
* A Chartered Professional with an appropriate Institute or demonstratable equivalent experience.
