WHAT TO EXPECT
The primary responsibility of the Central Diagnostics team is to deliver the processes and enabling tooling required by the business to ensure Diagnostic software delivery adheres to the mandated standards. The role of the Delivery Lead Engineer is to co-ordinate the delivery of Diagnostic software from Commodity Engineering to Diagnostic End Users along the vehicle programme lifecycle. The Delivery Lead Engineer will utilise the newly implemented Diagnostic Authoring tooling to manage delivery status of the Diagnostic artefacts onto all future vehicle programmes. The Delivery Lead Engineer will co-ordinate a small team within their area to complete of the On-Boarding, maintenance and change management activities required to support vehicle programme delivery. The Delivery Lead Engineer will also work with the Commodity Engineering areas, defining the technical direction on Diagnostic Data Authoring and Verification concerns, managing the delivery timeline risk through centralised status reporting.
As the Delivery Lead Engineer, you will be a subject matter expert in the technical content and correct application of the current Diagnostic Standards used by the Commodity Engineering areas to deliver the Diagnostic artefacts. Working alongside the internal stakeholders of Diagnostic Platforms, Connected Diagnostics, Diagnostic Data Management and external stakeholders of Manufacturing & Customer Service the role will require a continual review of the Diagnostic Delivery Process to identify and deliver improvements. This can include defining improvements to the Diagnostic Standards, updates to the Delivery Process or definition of new tooling features to enable improvements to the quality of delivery of Diagnostic artefacts.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll hold a Degree, HND, or BTEC with equivalent experience in an Engineering field – Advantageous (Technical / Software / Electronics)
You’ll need knowledge of specifying or implementing diagnostic concepts in Diagnostic Data, preferably with experience using Open Data Exchange format; evidenced by a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within projects which implemented diagnostic or system health monitoring capability
You’ll also need working experience in Software validation; evidenced by a minimum of 1 year’s work experience within a project as either a validation engineer or defining/managing a validation plan
In addition to this you’ll need experience of successfully leading external teams in the delivery of project objectives
You’ll also need experience of defining technical requirements; evidenced by a minimum of 1 year’s work experience within a project as a lead engineer
