As a DevOps Engineer in our central team, you'll work in a highly collaborative way to drive efforts to build, support and improve our tools for Continuous Integration, automated testing and release management. We expect that you’ll demonstrate and apply exemplary engineering practices to increase agility, improve quality and help reduce downtime in all our solutions.
As DevOps is not a “thing you do” but a cultural change more than anything, you’re also expected to drive this change and ensure that we embed agile and DevOps principles in everything we do.
We want to see placement of these skills in context – why they matter, what value they bring, how to get the most from them, how to evolve them and spread them further within the organisation.
It is also very important to understand and apply industry standard methodologies, foster collaborative working to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist, and ensure implementation of solutions where appropriate.

We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our growing Engineering team, to help deliver our data driven Engineering Dashboard insight-led solutions that help the Engineering Community thrive, setting the way for our colleagues.

Experience of managing applications running in a Cloud environment providing operational support, troubleshooting, tuning, upgrade & optimization.
Current knowledge of Java.
Hands-on experience in scripting
Who we're looking for...
Experience across the entire software development life-cycle from inception, through build to production
Strong familiarity with source code repositories and other tools, particularly Git.
Experience with a configuration and deployment management tools is an advantage, e.g. Terraform, Chef
Understanding of IT Service Management and project management methods
A “can-do” attitude, capability of bootstrapping projects, and ability to effectively work with multi-disciplinary, internal and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle
Familiarity with agile development practices, continuous integration and test automation (TDD, BDD, Selenium)
Experience automating release and build processes using Jenkins
