We are looking for skilled, ambitious, enthusiastic team members to join us based in the Midlands region, UK

As part of a dedicated development unit with specific responsibility for DevOps, support the systems architecture specification, implementation and maintenance to support continuous integration of 3 technology streams

In this role, you'll work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems. Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations and troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environment

Within the role you will be responsible for;

Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing cloud based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems.

Build, release and configuration management of production systems.

Pre-production Acceptance Testing to help assure the quality of our products / services.

System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains.

Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements.

Evaluate new technology options and vendor products.

Ensuring critical system security through the use of best in class cloud security solutions.

Work in close collaboration with the development and product team

Provide a continuous integration environment (including development, test and ship/live environments)

Establish and enforce DevOps protocols in line with industry best practice

Participate use case reviews and backlog grooming by identifying sessions with particular focus on identifying DevOps requirements

Develop backup and rapid recovery plans

Monitor system performance/health

Liaise with corporate IT for wider systems integrations (SSO etc)

Minimum Requirements

To be successful in this role we are looking for candidates with the following;

Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools

Strong scripting (e.g. Python) and automation skills

Windows and Linux system administration

Experience with system monitoring tools

Ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues

​​Good communication and established team working skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Agile software development, project management methodologies

Basic DB administration experience (Oracle, SQL Server)

Experience administrating version control systems such as SVN

Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP)

Experience of Single sign on Authorities and other back office systems

Security, penetration testing / OSWAP

AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google cloud platform, IBM cloud or other

Strong OO Programming skills (Java or C#) and others Javascript, HTML5, WEB API
