As part of Edwards constant drive to improving product quality, Edwards is looking to employ a Development Engineer to and improve common assemblies, production support, as well as support component obsolescence and fault investigations on released products.
Reporting to the Technical Manager the Development Engineer will typically function as a member of a team working to develop products, through the design, development, testing, commissioning and integration phases. Key responsibilities will include:
Standard specification analysis.
Support of development of new designs.
Creation of tests programs/specifications.
Execution of testing and contributing to commissioning and integration.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine interest in mechanical or electrical engineering and possess an enthusiasm for managing the product development from initial concept to the conclusion of the products lifecycle.
A good mechanically biased engineering degree (or other relevant engineering qualification with 2 years industry experience)
Experience in product development and introductions is an advantage
Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly
Experience in the use of a range of engineering materials and with several manufacturing methods/techniques
3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA, Visio, AutoCAD and/or other drafting tools)
An understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and system schematics
Results Orientation - focus on delivering to project milestones and timescales
Positive attitude and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Understand key technical deliverables and requirements and can report concisely to more senior engineers and the project manager
