Our Developer Technology Engineer (Documentation & Deployment) will create and edit documentation used by a wide range of developers that will help deliver our mission to design a smarter future.

The Developer Technology team at Imagination helps software developers create stunning content using our PowerVR Graphics technology, via our industry-leading tools and SDK. We need to have the best documentation to give the best support.

As part of our Developer Technology team, you will create and edit documentation used by a wide range of developers, including top-tier game and middleware, automotive, and neural networks. You will work with a wide range of documentation types, including formal SDK documentation, user manuals, architecture guides, blog posts, website material, presentations, and even videos!

Additionally, you will also take care of our Deployment infrastructure to make sure of all our material reaches developers. This includes working with our installers and statistics, as well as managing our web presence for developers.

You will gain a deep understanding of the PowerVR architecture, and other graphics techniques and learn how to apply this knowledge to improve our technical documentation.

You will

* Create, review, and edit a variety of styles of technical documentation, to support and educate developers

* Communicate with both internal and external developers, including top-tier games and middleware for promotional purposes

* Assist with the regular deployment of our tools and SDK, including creating and maintaining the installers for our tools

* Gather and analyse download and engagement statistics to help us be more responsive to our users

* Manage our web presence including maintaining our developer portal and social media accounts

You have

* Experience working as an Editor or Technical Author for a software or hardware company, or you will be able to demonstrate excellent writing skills

* Full proficiency with standard documentation tools like MS Word, and be competent with areas such as page layout, header and footer manipulation, templates, styles, and cross references

* Capability to understand, present and communicate complex ideas to a very high written standard, closely following our style guidelines

* A high level of common sense and attention to detail and be great at finding creative solutions to problems

* A hard working and self-motivated attitude, but are also able to collaborate effectively

* Some experience in programming, whether it be web based languages or scripting (C++, Python, HTML or CSS)

You might also have

* Some experience of graphics programming (OpenGL, Vulkan, OpenGL ES)

* Experience with DITA, RST, or other XML standards, or you will be willing to learn

* Some experience of revision control systems, or collaboration tools such as Confluence
