We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Design Project Manager to join our Flooding and Water Management team. In this role you’ll be responsible for the management and coordination of the design of wastewater infrastructure schemes or treatment works upgrades in a design and construct environment.

What does the role involve?

You will take responsibility for budgeting, cost control and programming of the design, following established processes and procedures. You will also act as the key point of contact for the project with the client and contractor. On simpler projects you may also act as the Design Lead.

You will enable a collaborative style of work with contractors' clients and capital delivery alliances, influencing and communicating at all levels, reporting and complying with business process internally within Sweco and externally with clients and stakeholder organisations.

You will also provide support, guidance and mentoring to more junior project managers within the team to develop skills and best practice.

To be successful in this role you'll possess:

* A sound understanding of water and/or sewage treatment processes and/or design parameters for infrastructure schemes in order to manage effectively the design works on potentially complex, multi-disciplinary schemes, whilst supported by an internal governance team.
* Experience of working as part of an engineering consultancy within the water industry, including multi-disciplinary schemes.
* Experience of project managing design schemes in this environment, and in collaborative, multi-party alliances and company wide project teams.
* Familiarity with relevant software packages for project management, cost control, etc.
* Strong interpersonal/team working skills with a good working relationship with all levels of an organisation, clients and contractors.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* An HNC/D or Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject.
* Appropriate Professional Recognition: IEng/ CEng, APM etc
