Job Description

To work within a concurrent engineering Project team reporting to the MDO Group leader.

Description of the job:

Do you have a passion for Design and looking to work within the Space industry?

You will be joining the Mechanical Design Office (MDO) at Airbus Defence & Space in Stevenage. Responsible for maintaining a high degree of CAD competence in spacecraft design & accommodation including Detailed Design within an engineering group or Project team environment.

Task & accountabilities:

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:



Production of drawings, models, assembly models, Bill of Materials, Engineering Change Notes, emails, memos related to the Configured items for the allocated project(s) to cost and schedule as delegated by the Lead Design Engineer.



Ensure all outputs from the Mechanical Design Office (MDO) are correct to the project requirements as stated by Lead MDO Designer. All the project DO outputs must be self-checked, signed & stamped by the MDO lead design engineer to the checklists & CATIA procedures.



Contribute to the process of releasing drawings, BOM's & ECO's related to the allocated project.



Able to work autonomously on design tasks



Support to other general DO technical activities i.e. process improvements, bids etc.

Required skills:



Working knowledge and experience of CATIA V5 and / or 3Dexperience (V6)



Strong Engineering & technical background including working knowledge of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and DFM (Design for Manufacture).



Practical understanding of Design solutions.
