Converter Station Operator

Salary £27k - £35k + up to 26% shift allowance

Location: Deeside Substation, Deeside Flintshire

About the role

We are looking for a Converter Station Operator to operate and provide day to day maintenance of the Flintshire Bridge Converter Station.The role includes the following duties;

* Enact the role of Competent Person, CP01, and set themselves to work on routine tasks
* Enact the role of Authorised Person for the control roomUnderstand all converter station site safety specific requirements
* Manage DC Converter Station control room alarmsBe commercially aware of operator actions with regard the HVDC link
* Provide information regarding the operation of the interconnector

About you

* Good understanding HVDC Convertor Station Operation.
* Ability to work unsupervised on a wide range of transmission equipment as part of a fully integrated team but with occasional lone working.
* Demonstrate a self-reliance approach to common work related problems, using IS systems to resolve them.
* Modern apprenticeship or equivalent, including City & Guilds 232 or relevant NVQ’s, in an engineering discipline
* IOSH Working Safely or equivalent.
* Full driving licence
* Required to work shifts - 24/7 shift pattern
