Overall Objective

Working closely with the Operations Director to ensure the safe, effective and efficient management and leadership of multiple construction projects simultaneously. The role and involvement spans from pre-construction to end of DLP and it will involve engagement with all team member, within Esh and external consultants.

Key Accountabilities

• Plan and schedule workforce requirements for internal resources and Sub contractors, ensuring adequate resources for holidays / peaks in workload.

• To ensure schemes are completed safely within timescales, budgetary requirements and to the highest standards.

• Motivate and lead site-based teams to successfully deliver construction projects to completion.

• Monitor and manage project programme to ensure progress to plan.

• Ensure timely submission of key reporting requirements.

• Monitor and control preliminary costs, working closely with the Commercial department to ensure maximum efficiency of delivery.

• Monitor and manage work to ensure quality of overall products.

• Ensure site / workforce is compliant with Health and Safety regulations at all times.

• Anticipate potential problems and take responsibility to move the scheme forward.

• Establish good working relations with clients and staff, ensuring communication is clear, appropriate and effective at all levels.

• Use customer / client information to tailor services to meet individual needs.

• Conduct day to day line management duties effectively, following Esh Group policies and procedures, including recruitment / selection, induction, training, appraisals, absence management, disciplinary and grievance.

• Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports.

• Provide technical advice, in relation to construction solutions on site, and certifications, such as BREEAM etc

• Manage the design team

Experience and Qualifications

• In depth knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.

• Able to produce and monitor construction programmes using relevant software

• Previous experience relevant to the role in the commercial build sector

• Good financial awareness.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Excellent at building relationships both internally and externally.

• Experience of working in the public arena with good customer communication skills.

• Awareness of all current legislation and regulation attaining to construction activities.

• Desired qualifications: Degree and /or HNC / NVQ level 5 or equivalent in Construction Management, CSCS Card, SMSTS, Asbestos Awareness, First Aid at Work
