Wood Environment and Infrastructure Solutions has a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to join and contribute to one of the largest and most successful remediation and ground engineering teams in the UK/Europe. We are seeking to grow our world class team to ensure we continue to deliver the high calibre of service and technical excellence both we and our clients expect. We are involved in many key projects of regional and national significance, which we deliver alongside our core UK and global framework projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the geotechnical design and assessment of existing and future projects.
* Site based management of ground investigations including supervision and management of sub-contractors, soil logging, geotechnical soils testing and scheduling.
* Support in the preparation of proposals to deliver client objectives, including developing the scope of site investigations and tender packages and liaising with subcontractors.
* Data review and interpretation including ground model assessment and preparation of technical reports.
* Prepare design calculations, design drawings and other documents in accordance with project quality control procedures and requirements.
* Development of HSSE plans and RAMS.
* Ensuring that all work is delivered in line with procedures and processes and to the highest safety, health and environmental standards.

Skills / Qualifications


* Relevant technical degree e.g. civil engineering, engineering geology or other related discipline.
* A higher degree in geotechnical engineering, or similar, is desirable.


* Previous experience of geotechnical engineering of engineering geology.
* Geotechnical assessment and design experience including earthworks and remediation, earth retaining structures, slope stability assessment, ground improvement/treatment works, or shallow and deep foundation design.
* Experience of planning, designing and supervising ground investigations.
* Report writing including presenting complex technical information in a concise and accurate manner.
* Data handling, including experience in the use of GIS is desirable.

Skills / Attributes

* Communicate effectively, listen and engage, including communicating technical information effectively.
* Ability to innovate and develop in your technical area and to continually seek to improve performance in all aspects of your role.
* Flexibility to work across the UK and overseas for specific projects or longer-term assignments.
* A full UK driving licence is required.
