WHAT TO EXPECT
Joining the Engineering / Connected Car department, this key role will see the successful candidate working with both car navigation and location services, validating embedded and mobile location based applications, providing input into the overall test design and updating and maintaining the existing location based test suites.
You'll be the point of contact within the Connect Car team providing expertise, answers to queries and support to the business and liaising with suppliers as necessary for location services problems and discussing potential solutions with stakeholders both internally and externally. You'll also log errors and troubleshoot existing problems to help solve any observed issues.
In this role you'll be the go-to point of contact for navigation and location services based queries, provide support and input into car navigation and location services solutions. You'll update and maintain test suites based on feature or platform changes and create & update error logs
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
In this role you'll need to be expert in automotive navigation systems, bringing working knowledge and experience of GPS and Dead Reckoning fundamentals. You'll understand location based formats including KML, GPX, NMEA and will be familiar with navigation principles including Map Matching and Guidance Routing. You'll also be able to work with industry standard tools, including JIRA and ClearQuest.
Ideally you'll have a strong technical background, possessing a degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent. Knowledge of navigation systems or market trends within automotive navigation is highly advantageous.
You'll be working across a variety of Jaguar Land Rover sites in this role, so flexibility to travel and a full driving license are must haves for this position.
You'll be passionate about navigation systems and knowledgeable when it comes to complex GPS problems and solutions, possessing a technical background ideally in engineering. You'll be an exceptional communicator and team player with strong stakeholder management skills and will be capable of working in an Agile environment.
