Communications & Stakeholder Manager – London – CP6

An opportunity for a multi-disciplined communications expert has arisen to work on a range of communication activities to support the delivery of the Anglia CP6 framework (Rail) your primary focus will be on delivering stakeholder and community relations, working as part of both the Network Rail and Murphy’s communications teams.

The Project

Murphy has been awarded one of three multi-billion-pound contracts by Network Rail for the South of England, worth up to £7bn for Control Period--******). The multi-discipline framework will deliver projects of varying value, including stations, buildings and civils, electrifications, power, signalling, telecommunications and track. This is initially in place for a five-year period but has the option of three one-year extensions if required.

The Role

* Acting as the main point of contact and liaison between the project and communication teams

* Advising and guiding the project leadership on the communications strategy, in regular liaison with Network Rail and Murphy

* Working with project teams on site to build relationships with communities impacted by our work and identifying opportunities to support local initiatives in line with our values

* Supporting the Network Rail communications / community relations teams to develop and deliver internal and external stakeholder plans including communications calendar, key messages, identifying stakeholders, developing methods of engagement

* In tandem with the Network Rail communications team, deliver communications materials and content for review and agreement, as agreed with the project leadership and client

* Proactively gathering information and updating relevant comms channels – including digital - with relevant and up-to-date content, including news stories and case studies to be used for internal and external communication

* Develop and delivery stakeholder plans as needed to ensure the smooth delivery of our project

* Develop and plan proactive community giving programme, e.g. volunteering, school engagement, and STEM activities with any communications needs including collating case studies and success stories

* Work with Network Rail communications to devise, develop and deliver project content such as photography, press releases, video, case studies and other relevant material

About You

* Experience working in a similar communications role with clear skills gained from delivering community or stakeholder engagement plans

* Excellent writing and editing skills, and skilful at identifying good news stories

* Ability to work across multiple comms disciplines, and evidence in doing so either from an in-house or agency role

* Good organisation and project management skills, with demonstrable evidence of effectively managing multiple projects, developing communication plans and delivering them

* Ability to proactively build effective relationships based on a collaborative and open approach with a range of stakeholders is essential

* Some experience or involvement in devising, organising and delivering effective internal and external events

* Proactive attitude and be a self-starter with bags of initiative.
