BAM Nuttall, Rail South Division, is recruiting a Marketing and Communications Assistant, based in our Kent office (Sundridge) and/or Network Rail’s London (currently Southwark) office, with some travel to sites across the South East. Role is open to flexible working including location and hours.
Reporting to the Engineering, Assurance and Collaboration Lead and supported by BAM’s corporate communications team, you’ll play a central role in supporting our Rail South team, who are delivering a 5-year Framework for Network Rail. The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for sourcing, developing and creating content about team activities related to sustainable solutions, our collaborative way of working; general internal comms, notifications and messages; interfacing with client teams, stakeholder presentations and maximising our website and social media channels.

Your mission

About the role
Develop an in-depth knowledge of our work across the Rail South region and use your skills as a communicator to plan an engaging calendar of content; share that knowledge with the wider business, our clients, our supply chain and the wider world.
Create digital content for internal and external channels
Proactively work with colleagues to generate engaging stories and content for daily news on internal and external channels. the intranet, poll questions and feature stories
Identify opportunities to create compelling photographic and video content and work with creative suppliers
Compile a quarterly newsletter for employees about news and celebrating success
– Maintain, review and and develop Rail South Communications Plan
Support internal and external marketing and communications campaigns
Collaborate proactively with colleagues across the business and Network Rail, building trusted relationships
Keep to Network Rail and BAM messaging
Gathering news content for BAM corporate channels and collaborate with other members of the rail communications network

Familiarity with BAM and / or knowledge of or a demonstrable interest in construction or rail market, would be desirable but not essential
Key skills and qualifications
Degree or equivalent
Previous experience in a marketing and communications role or similar
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Excellent IT skills and knowledge of social media channels
Familiar with Office 365 applications including SharePoint
Experience with InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite preferable or willingness to learn the software
Knowledge and experience of corporate systems and desktop environments.
Attention to detail, interest in photography, aesthetics, too.
Leader, decision maker
Good interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with lots of team members and build relationships.
