We have an opportunity for a Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Head Office, Over Court Barns, near Bristol.

Pre March 2020 we would have been raving about our wonderful head office site and all the great stuff that comes with it but for now that’s not too relevant, while we are all essentially working from home. But we still have our culture and our people and the wellbeing champions in particular are busy dreaming up and delivering opportunities to help keep people happy and healthy and we look forward to returning to the collaborative and social environment that is a Hydrock office, when it is safe to do so (although we expect a blend of office and home working in the future).

The residential market has been affected by the pandemic but our Infrastructure Division have been busy winning and delivering work throughout and are now in a position to invest in new people and grow. What you’ll be responsible for:

* Scheme development, preliminary and detailed designs and project coordination
* Upholding the quality and accuracy of deliverables
* Design and site meetings, site inspections and progress reporting
* Leading projects including budgetary control
* Preparing fee proposals
* Mentoring junior colleagues

The attributes we expect you to bring to the role and company:

* A relevant qualification in civil engineering and several years consultancy experience
* Working knowledge of Section 104, 278 and 38 adoption procedures
* Experience of working with developers
* Working knowledge of relevant software such as AutoCAD, Microdrainage, Civil 3D, AutoTrack and Drawnet or similar packages
* Understanding of UK planning procedures and experience of providing technical support to secure planning approval
* Experience of securing technical approvals from highway and drainage authorities
* Self-motivated team player with good people skills
* Integrity and credibility. People want to work with you (customers and colleagues)
* Believes in our ethos
