Civil Engineering Modeller - Clean Water

Job Summary

In this role you will form part of our strong multi-disciplinary water team, delivering varied and challenging projects for a range of clients. You will be working alongside a busy team of modellers and engineers, delivering clean water network modelling projects and studies. This will involve undertaking detailed hydraulic modelling studies using industry standard software.

Your tasks will include:

*

Undertake Hydraulic Modelling, (eg network model builds / upgrades /calibration / operational response / programming).

*

Undertake site visits/surveys of clean water network infrastructure and field tests

*

Data collation and analysis

*

Delivery of Model Reports / Feasibility Assessments for potable water schemes

*

The use of GIS and various hydraulic software packages.

*

Provide support to the modelling team and wider Water team, with opportunities to work within other civil engineering disciplines.

*

Operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environmental and quality standards.

Minimum Requirements

*

Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

*

Good IT skills, with high proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

*

Knowledge in the use of water network models. Previous experience of hydraulic principles and use of network modelling software is preferable.

*

GIS experience is preferable (MapInfo/ArcGIS).

*

CAD experience is preferable, but not essential.

*

Ability to use your initiative and have a desire to improve your technical capabilities.

*

A hard working and flexible individual, who is a team player, reliable, proactive and shows initiative.

*

Ability to work collaboratively to solve engineering problems to deliver benefits to the communities that we support

*

Self-motivated and able to work both independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team.

*

Be well organised with attention to detail and good time management skills.

*

Travel to site.

* A relevant Science or Engineering degree.
