Support the Centre for Excellence for bridge and structural design Team and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.
As a Bridges Civil Engineer, you’ll have the chance to lead and mentor our bridge staff on tasks such as structural analysis, feasibility studies, tender designs and the production of contract documents and technical reports. Working with other members of the team, you’ll deliver projects involving new build analysis, detailed design, bridge inspection, assessment and rehabilitation schemes. During your time with us, you will get the chance to work with bridge replacement/strengthening designs, feasibility studies, design and inspection for pedestrian/cyclist bridges, new bridge design from pre-stressed concrete to networked tied arches, as well as lead a project team that is responsible for the delivery of a range of challenging projects. The minimum qualifications for this position are:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
Experience of current bridge design/assessment standards and best practices
Familiar with current codes and standards, including Eurocodes and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges “DMRB”
Experience with bridge inspections and production of inspection reports
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
A Proven track record in related road and bridge projects
Computer literate with knowledge of using structural engineering packages
