Job Summary

The AECOM Water, Ports and Power business has an immediate requirement for a Civil 3D Technician with extensive experience on a variety of civil engineering projects to join our team in the South West, in either Exeter or Bristol.

The successful candidate will be an experienced CAD technician – specifically with Autodesk Civils 3D skills – and will have extensive experience on a variety of non-infrastructure projects. You will have a proven level of experience of delivering projects to client’s satisfaction at the appropriate standard, ensuring accuracy of models and drawings, ensuring that the relevant codes and standards are complied with. You will have strong development skills and the technical ability, knowledge and competence to provide guidance and to teach others.

Responsibilities

*

Managing CAD deliverables for multiple projects to completion within budget

*

Effectively manage own time across multiple projects and undertake CAD duties unsupervised

*

Attend and contribute to design team meetings

*

Advise and mentor junior CAD colleagues

*

To work specifically on agreed projects using agreed software and following digital execution plans

*

Comply with quality policies for project delivery

*

Liaise with sector and regional CAD/BIM leads on best practice, process and technology developments

*

Support Digital Engineering Lead in maintaining CAD standards, best practice and processes for modelling, content creation and advanced digital developments

We are a multi-discipline team comprising civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process engineering delivering services to our clients such as feasibility studies, scheme designs and detailed designs. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include Wessex Water, Thames Water, Welsh Water, Severn Trent Water, Network Rail, Environment Agency and several leading Tier 1 contractors.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

* HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering; or HNC CAD with main experience in the water industry

Requirements

Extensive post-qualification experience in the AEC industry, specifically water/ wastewater treatment works and pumping stations

*

Experienced, advanced user of Autodesk Civil 3D

*

Working knowledge of, and experience delivering projects in accordance with, CIC BIM Protocol, ISO 19650 and related BIM standard

*

Experience with other BIM software such as Autodesk Navisworks, BIM360, Infraworks, Revit an advantage

*

Experience working in a Common Data Environment such as ProjectWise, BIM360, 4Projects, Aconex or similar

*

A good team player confident to liaise with other staff locally and across the global business
