JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge blood glucose monitoring technology for use in both home and hospital settings, including our revolutionary Freestyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System.

In our Centre of Excellence in Witney, we design, develop and manufacture test strips and biosensors which are used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes.

As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to high volume manufacturing in our Witney Centre of Excellence, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead QA Engineer to join our expanding highly skilled team, acting primarily as the site CAPA Manager.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent), preferably in a Science, Technology or Engineering discipline. Experience of working in QA is desirable but not essential as the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and will have previous experience of working within a fast paced highly regulated environment.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager, the Lead QA Engineer will be able to:-

Lead, mentor and motivate a team of Quality Engineers (Operations QA, CAPA and Quality Systems)
Communicate confidently and effectively with all levels of management, peers, and key stakeholders, including timely escalation of quality issues
Problem solve and provide solutions to a wide range of challenges
Provide guidance, insight and training to the team and the wider business around quality standards and regulatory requirements
Lead and/or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and projects
Provide subject matter expertise during audits and inspections
Represent QA in cross functional meetings (site and division)
Effectively project manage significant change initiatives e.g. MDD to MDR
