Buyer – London – Rail/Transportation - 12 month fixed term contract

Are you an experienced Buyer looking for your next opportunity where no two days are the same and a role that offers variety? If so J.Murphy and Sons are keen to hear from you! Due to continued contract wins we require a Buyer to join the team in our Staffordshire, West Midlands office, we’re looking for an experienced Procurement specialist who can add value an identify the operating unit demand supply chain capacity for the unit. This is initially a 12 month fixed term contract with a view to extension or permanent. What you will be doing

* Supporting live construction projects through sound procurement practices

* Implement an “added value” material procurement strategy for each project

* Assist project team in accurately forecasting their outturn material costs

* Provide the agreed forecast information by the agreed dates each month

* Attend monthly meeting to discuss material forecast including any movements in the period and future risks

* Continuous monitoring and improvement of the supply chain

* Be the prime business unit contact for Group Procurement Function

Who we are looking for

* Procurement experience in the UK Construction industry

* Experience working for a Developer would be advantageous

* Materials packages experience

* A high level of emotional intelligence, resilience and communication skills

* CIPS qualified or working towards with significant work experience
