About the Department

SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a product/service portfolio ranging from M&E LV, HV, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.

What is the Role?

You'll be responsible for supporting the strategy and direction of the business by having a strong focus on developing key accounts and relationships across not only Tier 1 Main Contractors but also key members of the professional teams in the North West region to grow the MEP side of the business. Along with a strong focus on developing end user customers to support the HV business steam, you'll be supported from the wider group HV business team. SSE have a national High Voltage business that support national and local clients as well as our distributed energy business and each region benefits from the enhanced delivery capabilities.

What Do I Need?

To be successful in this role you'll have the following key skills and attributes:

- Excellent customer facing skills and confident to develop new relationships, whilst maintaining existing customer base.

- Existing relationships within the M&E market that can be explored further.

- An ability to network with senior leaders in the industry and to build emotional and sustainable professional links.

- Good written and communication skills to support the work winning teams and bid writing expertise with a creative flair to enhance the SSE submissions.

- The ability to identify prospective tender opportunities and to apply selectivity to pursue the opportunities that will deliver the required business objectives.

You'll also develop a marketing plan for the North West and identify growth sectors in order to put together a cohesive strategy to set the future direction of the business, which will then be presented to the board. Finally, you'll undertake customer satisfaction surveys and gather feedback to use the data to identify areas for business improvement.
