Are you a Chartered Building Surveyor looking to work on building projects that can change the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

If so we are looking for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join our team in Leeds to work for a variety of clients and instructions. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions. We are looking for someone that wants to take their career to the next level and manage a small team, build relationships with clients and help this team grow. The role will cover much of Yorkshire and the North East and AECOM’s Freedom to Grow policy actively encourages a flexible approach to working that suits, you, your team and your clients.

About Our Team:

We have building surveying teams across the UK, working together to meet our client's needs. Our Leeds team cover a variety of work from design work through to condition surveys. clients vary from Local Authority, Defence, Education to private clients.

Job Responsibilities:


You will need to be from a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to deliver design projects from inception to completion, including feasibilities and statutory consents.


Knowledge of NEC contracts is advantageous.


Be able to build relationships with existing and new clients, including within AECOM


Assist the team with fee proposals and visions for the future.


Assist with mentoring junior staff, including encouragement towards achieving RICS chartered status.


Condition survey experience, schedules of condition, dilapidations.


Demonstrate leadership skills in projects, taking financial responsibility for projects.

Minimum Requirements


Extensive in all core building surveying work, including design, condition surveys, feasibilities and Contract Administration.


Experience in producing feasibility and concept reports.


Experience in working and building relationships within the private and public sector


Previous management of sub-consultants and contractors.


Have experience of work/bid winning and a willingness to participate in work winning strategies


Ability to manage and monitor fees, profits and invoicing

Preferred Qualifications


Qualified member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors


Degree level education as a minimum


Defence Sector experience would be an advantage


NEC3 Supervisor experience desirable but not essential
