Building Surveying Director - London / South
This is an exciting opportunity for a Director or aspiring Director with experience of - and a real passion for – leading a regional building surveying team.
Joining our Building & FM Practice within the UK, you’ll already have a wide range of valuable management skills and experience technically and commercially. You will be expected to support and grow the existing team.
This is a client facing business management role and you will be expected to manage an operational business from a P+L perspective as well as developing new clients, winning tenders and playing an active part on the leadership of projects.
London is the preferred location for this role however there may be an opportunity to be based in Bristol or Southampton.
You will report to the Head Building & FM Consultancy Practice and be responsible for leading, driving and growing an established building surveying business in London and the South region. You will proactively contribute to the development of the client base, support and develop a culture of cross-discipline working, develop and maintain business relationships, set and manage client expectations and agree fee schedules and commercial terms. You will also develop a business plan for the team including exploring key business development opportunities and be a proven ‘work winner’. You’ll develop leading edge solutions, maximise technical quality and efficiency and achieve project revenue targets.
You will be joining the existing team who are part of the Management & Surveying capability of WYG which encompasses professionals throughout the UK, including members of RICS, CIBSE and the Institute of Asset Management and who include a range of disciplines including building surveying, mechanical, electrical and energy services, project management, quantity surveying, safety management, asbestos consultancy and geospatial surveying, offering expertise to public and private clients around the UK and globally through the full project life cycle, including design, procurement and management.
A proven or aspiring business leader, you will be qualified to degree level, with RICS membership and relevant industry experience. Experienced in successfully running substantial projects from inception to completion, with the ability to write fee and project bids and perform effectively at tender interviews. You will have recognised management experience, the ability to manage other professionals and assistants and to collaborate and influence other team members and clients. You will have a very good understanding of financial management.
You should have a driver’s license and be prepared to travel across the UK and internationally if required.
You should also be suitable for security clearance.
