Manager as part of our PPM team based in London? You will provide
advice, assistance and leadership in the effective delivery of BIM in design
and construction projects.
will provide Building Information Management (BIM) advice and support to clients
and Arup projects whilst fulfilling the role of CIC Information Manager on complex projects
This role is key to the delivery and growth of Arup’s Project
Information Management capability. The
scope of the duties may change as the capacity develops. You will be in regular
contact with other members of the Group and senior staff within the firm. There
will also be frequent contact with clients and external organisations. You will
also be responsible for:
appropriate project BIM standards and procedures (including CAD, Document
Control and GIS) are established and maintained in accordance with the BS1192
suite of standards and Project IM group standards and best practice.
compliance with BIM standards and procedures.
Arup can effectively comply with standards set by external project parties
(where applicable) whilst maintaining a commercially astute and practical
the efficiency of the project team and supporting the achievement of project goals
through the use of information technology tools and methods.
and administration of Common Data Environments.
as the focal point for BIM enquiries and updating project team members on BIM systems
/ tools, issues and their resolution.
and assessing the effectiveness of the project’s BIM procedures and making
recommendations for use on subsequent projects.
reviews of existing projects and providing recommendations to the project team
and the IM Group.
will also act as an Information Manager on projects which may be large or
lead the BIM function within the project; which will involve liaison with
Document Control, CAD and GIS. Work will be undertaken for a wider range of
clients, with whom liaison will be required.
the following will apply:
work closely with the project team to establish and maintain best practice
procedures and joint project working and understanding.
liaise with Arup’s wider BIM and IM community and ensure lessons learnt are
shared and built into best practice procedures.
liaise with system suppliers (including internal IT groups) to ensure timely
delivery of project requirements.
ensure protocols are followed by all staff working on the projects.
ensure the chosen systems and tools continue to meet the future requirements of
qualification, ideally to degree standard, in an engineering or building
least 5 years’ experience of Building Information Management on a variety of
design and construction projects including use of BS1192 suite of standards and
the implementation of BIM Execution Plans.
of Information Management, GIS, Records Management or document control would be
with BIM management tools and Common Data Environments such as Bentley
ProjectWise, Collaboration for Revit, AutoDesk Docs, and Construction Extranets
such as Asite, BIW,
and competent with models reviewing tools such as Navisworks and Solibri.
with a variety of BIM tools such as AutoDesk Revit and
communication skills, both written and verbally.

to report progress at meetings and answer questions accordingly
