What is the purpose of the role?
You will be part of a small team of technical experts; where you will be responsible for ensuring that all teams across the water network business are aware of best practice and standards. Working with the regional network managers and their teams you will ensure compliance & data collection is being maintained along with looking at embedding a culture of continuous improvement. You will be responsible for working with the business to develop and refine best practices, asset standards, operational standards and data integrity relating to Water Networks. You will ensure that an audit process and governance is in place to monitor that the network is operated safely; to recognised industry quality and regulatory standards and that the appropriate data is collected in order to inform and drive future development decisions.

What will this role involve?
This role will involve:
Working with colleagues and a range of subject matter experts to ensure key water network asset standards meet the needs of the business and its stakeholders.
Ensuring that there is a clear measure of compliance for the Water Network standards, ensure a process for tracking the compliance, briefing and success of our standards is in place.
Lead a Best Practice awareness plan and monitor key business areas implementing and use of water network standards.
Produce data quality reports and undertake regular audits for key standards related to water networks and methods of capturing feedback and level of compliance with asset standards.
Coordination of Standards and Best Practice related to improved initiatives and technology across the water industry.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who can work well as part of our team as well as engaging with people from across all levels of the business. You will have demonstrable experience in delivering programmes of work across a wide region within a process driven role. You will ideally have gained experience of water networks in order to hit the ground running. You will have strong written and verbal English and must be confident interpreting and understanding complex and technical documents. You will have gained experience of translating technical information into clear deliverables for the wider business. Demonstrable analytical and influencing skills are also crucial. A working knowledge of ISO5500 and quality management systems would be beneficial but not essential. Due to the nature of the role, a full and clean UK driving licence is required.
Thames Water information and salary details
This is role will be based from Reading, however regular travel around the Thames Water area will be required. We are offering a salary between £35,000 and £45,000 depending on experience.
