About the Role

The Transport and Infrastructure (T&I) Water team in WSP are seeking an Associate Water Engineer (Technical Manager) for our fast-growing team providing Highways and Rail water services for WSP from our offices in the North West.

As part of the growing T&I national water team a typical week would include:

* Being an integral part providing support both locally within the North West and around the country

* Helping to deliver highway and rail projects both nationally and internationally

Our projects range in size from smaller local authority development to large scale national projects including those delivered by Highways England, Network Rail and HS2. We also lead the provision of airport drainage services within WSP working on schemes globally.

As well as leading the drainage design for all key WSP transport and infrastructure projects, our national team also leads the wider Water Environment provision for the transport and infrastructure sector. The successful candidates will therefore be working alongside colleagues with leading skills in drainage, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, river engineering, WFD and tidal engineering amongst others.

About You

The successful candidate should have significant and wide ranging technical expertise and experience in the design of surface and foul water drainage systems for public infrastructure projects.

The candidate should have achieved Chartered status with CIWEM or the ICE and have substantial technical expertise and experience in the following areas:

* Surface water drainage design;

* Foul water drainage design;

* DMRB Volume 4 Section 2 and MCHW Series 500;

* Sewers for Adoptions 7th Edition;

* AutoCAD, Civils 3D;

The candidate will be responsible for technical, management and commercial aspects of projects. Experience of working with local authorities and rail/highway projects would be highly advantageous.
