We are looking for an
Associate Town Planner with experience in delivering consents for major schemes
and growing our planning offer. Through your work in this role, you will:
strengthen our Midlands Planning team;
planning projects (consents, policy work, research) for a variety of clients;
teams and manage staff – as both a specialist within a multi-disciplinary team,
but also with the abilities to lead teams of different specialists;
clients and work with them on a day to day basis;
negotiate with planning officers;
relationships internally with our other practices/teams;
business, including preparing bids for new work;
reports and give presentations;
into project delivery teams within Arup and with external consultants /
our Planning and Economics leader in the Midlands.

Required Skills & Experience
over 10 years’ experience working in town planning.
of developing planning policy and of providing development planning services.
to think creatively to develop planning policy based on robust evidence.
leadership and people management experience.
development experience, including building successful client relationships and
growing a network of client contacts.
Masters or Diploma qualified in town planning
the Royal Town Planning Institute (We would also consider Royal Institute of
Chartered Surveyors Planning & Development, depending on relevant
