Associate Structural Engineer
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Structural Engineer to join WYG’s extremely successful and versatile structural engineering team that forms a part of WYG’s Engineering division. You will be based in our London office with the unique opportunity to become part of a growing team that is responsible for generating work and undertaking work generated by other parts of the engineering and wider business.
You will report directly to and will assist and support the Director in charge of the Engineering department in London. We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Chartered Engineer capable of managing projects through delivery to financial close and to assist with growing the engineering team in the London office. Experience in business development with good client contacts in the South East region would be an advantage.
You will be given responsibility for the technical and commercial management of your own projects as well as acting as part of a team working on elements of major UK and International commissions that WYG has procured. It is one of our key values to provide excellence in everything that we do, so you will be mentored and trained towards this aim. Part of this role will be contributing to the development of BIM in your day to day duties. Due to the nature of our work in the defence and government sectors, you will be required to hold, or achieve, a level of security clearance which the company will facilitate.
As a Chartered Engineer you will bring an enthusiastic and professional approach to solving structural engineering problems and preparing structural reports. You will have experience in and an understanding of design involving most key elements of structures and preferably to Eurocode Standards. Blast design experience would be beneficial for the delivery of our projects along with overseas experience.
Your technical knowledge should include the use of technical design software and it would be useful to be able to review / amend using AutoCad or Revit software.
