Contract type:

Permanent

Discipline:

Geo-Environmental/Geotechnical

Location:

Almondsbury, Bristol

We have an opportunity for an associate (or an experienced principal) geotechnical engineer to join our growing geo team, (notionally based out of either our head office near Almondsbury, BS32 4DF or our central office, BS1 4RW, overlooking the harbourside) and become part of our thriving, award winning and highly successful consultancy.

Hydrock is an independently owned multidisciplinary consultancy, of circa 500 staff, operating out of 16 offices. It is one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For and a champion of wellbeing (note our recent Health and Wellbeing Leader of the Year award at the NCE100). We believe part of our success is looking after our people and our values help create a unique, dynamic, working environment. Our values include having fun, giving something back and our families coming first- check out all 10 here (and don’t miss the Challenge Day video on the same page!).

Our head office site is pretty special, with over 100 of us working out of converted historic buildings, in over 100 acres of the great outdoors. Lunchtimes provide the opportunity for running, cycling, taking a walk, playing football/rugby/rounders and there are at least two organised ‘work outs’ each week. The Wave Bristol is close by, literally adjacent to our Almondsbury site, so you can catch a wave around your working hours. There are good options for lunch out - country pubs, farm shop, garden centre and The Mall Cribbs Causeway is only a five-minute drive away. We have plenty of car parking spaces and a bike shed and showers are available for cyclists/runners.

Geo is one of our core disciplines and we have a substantial national team, including over 20 staff based at our head office. The team work from high quality office space in a converted historic building, boasting plenty of natural light and character. Hydrock's founder (Dr Brian McConnell) and MD (Dr Matt Hilton) both work from this site, along with our infrastructure, nuclear and business support teams.
