Job Summary
AECOM is currently seeking to hire Principal Archaeological Consultant to be based at Croydon.

As a Principal Consultant, you will be joining a diverse team that includes archaeologists, building archaeologists and heritage managers across a number of AECOM offices. Your role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen and business leadership, and you will utilise your skills to lead on large-scale Environmental Impact Assessments, be part of multi-disciplinary Design Teams, and deliver heritage planning advice. You will help to develop and expand our business across London and the South East, as well as helping to manage and mentor our team members. You will join a talented and friendly heritage team based in our Croydon office where you will be working in a collaborative environment as part of the wider Environmental and Ground Engineering team to help to deliver our substantial workload going forward. The Croydon office is located a short distance from both East and West Croydon stations which are well connected to major transport hubs and the south. Although based in the Croydon office, the flexible working environment with AECOM will allow you to work from other offices in Aldgate, St Albans, Hertfordshire, South East or Basingstoke as required.

Job Duties:
* Your duties will include managing major projects; preparing bids and costings; managing staff; procurement and management of sub-contractors and fieldwork programmes; preparation of assessments and EIA, and quality assurance.
Specific Skills Required:
Mandatory skills for this position include:
*
a full clean British driving license;
*
experience in leading and delivering complex heritage projects;
*
extensive experience of fieldwork design and management;
*
EIA;
*
project management experience;
*
excellent communication skills;
Minimum Requirements
*
Project and financial management;
*
Design and management of archaeological works for large-scale development projects;
*
Working within multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
*
A degree level qualification in a relevant discipline;
*
Membership of an appropriate professional body, or demonstrable equivalent level of experience;
*
Relevant consultancy experience;
