Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking an Associate Director Engineer for the Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) Engineering team in Scotland, based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will responsible for leading the electrical engineering team in Scotland, delivering both MEP on stand-alone and multi-disciplinary projects, as well as providing mentoring and coaching to members of the team. Role will also include a client facing role to sustain and grow both new and existing opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

*

Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for the MEP Scotland team, MEP projects and provide MEP input to multi-disciplinary projects

*

Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments, including undertaking AECOM project manager roles for MEP projects.

*

Generally, requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering.

*

Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.

*

Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.

*

Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.

*

Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

*

Manages group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.

*

To act as a mentor to junior staff, promoting CPD activities.

*

Support the development of client and architectural relationships with the aim to get new and repeat work.

*

Help develop fee proposals.

Minimum Requirements

*

Electrical project engineering experience, within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.

*

Experience of NEC 3 or 4, particularly with respect to Supervisor roles preferable.

*

Expected to travel between Edinburgh and Glasgow as necessary to fulfil project and team working requirements

Preferred Qualifications

*

CEng. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in electrical building services design/ electrical engineering or similar related qualification.

*

Ideally will have experience in healthcare sector, but also leisure, commercial and higher education sectors.

*

Ideally you will live locally, or be willing to relocate.
