Join us and you’ll be part of an organisation that takes pride in its people and purpose: creating long-lasting solutions to meet the needs of generations to come.

The Development Infrastructure team in London predominantly undertake strategic development planning and detailed design work, specialising in providing highways, drainage and development infrastructure advice to a wide-range of private sector clients, while supporting several key local authority clients. Most of our projects are located in London but we also work on projects throughout the UK and internationally. Our projects range from minor extensions of community facilities, town centres and major business parks, through to the redevelopment of London’s largest and most high-profile opportunity areas.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic team players with a ‘win-win’ focus. The candidates will have significant experience, a proven ability to deliver to a high standard, passion to share their knowledge and a desire to learn and contribute to the ongoing success of our team.

You will be an experienced development infrastructure engineer with extensive knowledge and experience of providing technical input to the planning process, leading and coordinating detailed design and also implementation of projects during the construction phase. You will be well versed in the preparation of design packages for highway and on plot drainage, SUDS, below slab drainage, attenuation, sewer diversions and build over agreements, together with the associated negotiations for technical approvals with planning, drainage and statutory authorities.

You should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in undertaking flood risk assessments and outline drainage strategies (including feasibility studies and due diligence) and preferably experience with Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA’s – water perspective).

A typical week will include:

* Your principal role will be day to day general management of the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands on design, leading to planning applications, detailed design submissions for approval and construction drawing issue.

* You will be active on multiple projects and client accounts at any time, requiring strong time management. You will be supported by a pool of experienced technical staff at various grades, and will be expected to manage project resources and delegate tasks accordingly, with input to mentoring junior staff.

* You will be responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered to budget, programme and technical standards and meet QA, CDM and SHEQ requirements.

* Prior project management experience will be highly beneficial, although development support will be provided as part of the role. You will have shared responsibility for business development with key account management responsibilities.

* You will support the wider team’s internal financial and commercial management through robust project delivery. Strong knowledge of the financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivering both large and small projects is important. Experience across a range of development sectors would be an advantage. The position will report to a Technical Director or Director.

* Have relevant qualifications (Bachelor or Masters) in Civil Engineering and will have been awarded Chartered status (CEng, MICE, MCIHT, C.WEM etc.) with extensive experience in infrastructure engineering in a development planning and implementation environment

* Have the ability to think at both strategic and detailed levels

* Have knowledge of the legal processes, planning, design, design software, technical consents process, adoption and contract procedures for the provision of drainage schemes including SUDS systems and associated infrastructure for new developments and regeneration projects and how to effectively deliver these to achieve a client brief

* Have knowledge of the relevant design codes such as Sewers for Adoption, SuDs Manual, Building Regulations, Water Industry Act / Water Framework Directive, NPPF and associated guidance relevant to drainage and the water environment

* Are well versed in the preparation of drawings for Contract Documents and S104, S106 and S185 Agreements
