About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant surveyor to join our team and work across Sublot1 at Long Itchington Wood, Warwickshire.

Role Purpose:

Assisting the Surveyor and wider team and responsible for performing surveying works for Sublot 1

What you'll be doing

Key Accountabilities:

* Principally assisting the survey team with conduct of surveying tasks and taking role commensurate with previous experience. To include installation of survey control points, control surveys, setting out, monitoring and brackets int the tunnel and TBM area. Taking measurements, downloading collected data, and assisting with processing
* Conduct on-field survey and record measurements
* Assist surveyors in drafting survey notes and detailed drawings
* Coordinate with other surveyors on field survey activities
* Responsible for the security and cleanliness of the project survey equipment, and that survey equipment is kept in serviceable condition.
* Performing site calibration checks on survey instruments, and documenting these as required by BBV procedures, under supervision, as necessary
* Responsible for the quality of the setting out, control or monitoring carried out by his team
* Ensure co-operation of site survey staff with project teams (maintain healthy relationship)

Who we're looking for

Skills/Experience Required:

* Previous experience in the ground works, structures and heavy civil
* Previous experience in tunnelling environment is desirable
* Surveying/Civil Engineering academical background is desirable
* Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
* Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
* Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights/shifts
* Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
