Job Summary

AECOM are currently seeking an Assistant Surveyor to be based in our Exeter office. You will be part of a team providing comprehensive, accurate and value driven service on large, high profile and exciting projects for clients in the public and commercial sectors. AECOM have secured places on a range of UK Frameworks and the Exeter team work across a wide range of sectors and clients on many high profile projects in the area. This is an excellent opportunity represents for anyone looking for progression and security to join AECOM as part of the growing Exeter team.

As an Assistant Surveyor, you will work as part of the team to help deliver all aspects of quantity surveying from inception of a project through to completion. You will be joining a highly skilled and respected multi-disciplinary design team working on a varied and interesting project workload. You will work on projects, varying in complexity and up to £50m in value.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

*

Feasibility estimates, cost planning, tender documentation, value engineering and commercial awareness, post contract management.

*

Be aware of marketing opportunities and where appropriate bring to the attention of Directors and the Business Development team.

FUNCTIONAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

*

Cost Planning: Area Schedules, Measurement of Quantities and entry onto Estimating software, Cost planning, Presenting Cost plan.

*

Tender Documentation: support in the BQ/Pricing Schedules Measurement, Preliminaries and other document collation.

*

Tender Evaluation: Review and Analysis of Tenders, support in preparation of Tender Reports.

*

Feasibility Estimates.

*

Value Engineering and Commercial Awareness.

*

Risk Management.

*

Post Contract Management: Preparation of Valuations, Final Accounts, Cost Reporting, Change Control.

Minimum Requirements

*

Keen to work as part of a team and to be mentored and to develop and progress in their career development.

*

Effective verbal and written communication skills – client facing.

*

Excellent numeracy skills.

*

An enthusiasm to go the extra mile, to provide great client service.

*

Articulate and able to interface directly and confidently with Clients and Design Team members. Achieves the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the company.

Preferred Qualifications

*

Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar RICS accredited qualification, and either working towards RICS status or ready to start the process.

*

Minimum 1-2 years post-graduation experience.
